Residents of Ejipura Ward 148 especially Sri Rama Temple Road and surrounding areas, nowadays, are facing severe water scarcity coupled with sewage backflow problems due to poor maintenance by the concerned officials.
Upon hearing the grievances through Ravindra Kumar and others local leaders, Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy called for a special meeting of Ejipura residents and civic officials on Wednesday morning.
BBMP Executive Engineer Srinivas Reddy, BWSSB Assistant Engineer Raghavendra, Waste Water Management AEE Dinakar and other officials were present.
Residents headed by Ravindra Kumar elaborated the burning issues and suggested certain remedial measures to be undertaken. Henry, resident of Buchappa Layout complained about the delay in excuting lead off drain work by BBMP Contractor at his Layout. Both the contractor as well as Srinivas Reddy EE assured to commence the work latest by next Monday. For sewage overflowing problem at Aradhana Layout BWSSB AEE assured to attend and solve it by Saturday. For the query put forth by Ravindra Kumar, Waste Water Management AEE Dinakar assured to erect one more motor at Ashwini Layout Wetwell in addition to existing two pumps with a view to tackle the extra load and recycle heavy discharge of Ejipura area. AE Raghavendra assured residents that laying of 6″ Cauvery water pipes connecting between Rama Temple and Buchappa Layout through 20th C- Cross will be started within 15 days so as to overcome water scarcity existing at certain cross roads for the past several years. At 24th F Cross as complained by Chandrakumar local resident, relaying of 12″ dia sewage pipe work be will be commenced within fifteen days. Local leaders Balakrishna P, Krishna Kumar, JohnFelix, Lakshmipathy, Gowda, Henry and others residents were present and briefed the local problems to the officers. Minister Ramalinga Reddy strictly warned the officials to adhere to the deadline or face the music.
