Residents get lessons on SWM at Compost Santhe

In continuing with the concept of spreading the awareness of best practises of Solid Waste Management, the Compost Santhe arrived at Kuvempu Park SG Palya.
Swachgraha, Hasirudala, Daily Dump, Stone Soup, Koramangala Residents plastic ban and waste segregation stalls and were put up around the park. Several other stalls dealing with sustainable solutions were also put up.
At about 8.30 am, the Transport Minister and area MLA Ramalinga Reddy, Mayor Padmavathi, BBMP Commisioner Manjunath Prasad along with the Corporators of all wards of BTM Assembly constituency and Ms Sowmya Reddy, an environment activist arrived.
They went to each and every stall and the volunteers explained about the products they had put up. At the stonesoup stall, the Commissioner himself explained the composting process to the Minister Ramalinga Reddy. Padmashree Balaram explained all the advantages of the plastic ban and waste segregation to them .
Several hundreds of people came to the Santhe and went back educated about SWM practises and equipments .
Mayor Padmavathi has said that she wishes to see these Santhes in all parks of Bengaluru.
