“200 Years of Bicycle – A Mannheim Invention” 1817- 2017. The Bicycle was invented by Karl Drais of Mannheim, Germany. Lucius Alberts from Mannheim has arranged for donation of 8 Bicycles for 8 Alphabets of Mannheim. To celebrate 200 years of Bicycle, Rotary Club of Bangalore Koramangala will be distributinig 200+ Bicycles to the Needy – poor farmers, farm workers/hawkers, etc., in remote villages of Rotary Dist.3190. The Donees will be identified and Monitored with the help of Rural Rotary Clubs & NGOs. The Donation will be Rs.5,000/- per bicycle and the bicycles will be distributed at a function at the end of 2017.
Project 2. Cyclathon: Rotary Club of Bangalore Koramangala will be celebrating 200 years of bicycle invention by conducting a Cyclathon on Sunday 27th August 2017 and one fruit tree sapling will be planted through www.treesforfree.org. for every cyclist taking part.
They are bringing out the Bicycle Song as a tribute to Karl Drais the inventor of Bicycles.
