Free cancer detection & awareness camp on Sept 24

The Marwari Yuva Manch STARS in association with Koramangala ST Bed Layout Residents’ Welfare Association is organizing a free Cancer Awareness & detection camp in ST Bed Layout on Sept 24 (Saturday).  Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy is going to inaugurate the camp on that day. Corporator Ramachandra and ST Bed RWA President Rajendra Babu will be the guests of honour.
We all are aware that Cancer is emerging as one of the major health threat to the humanity worldwide.  In Lower-Middle income countries like India, the toll of Cancer is greater. It is estimated that about 11 lakh new cases of Cancer are being registered every year in India. World Health Organization (WHO) advocates that the threat of Cancer can be prevented through – spreading the awareness; and early detection. Perceiving the impact of this global health threat, the organization All India Marwari Yuva Manch has come up with a nationwide drive of “Prevent Cancer Program” under the name of “Mission Jagriti”.
Under this Nationwide Program of “Mission Jagriti”, within a span of two years, they intend to:-
Organize 500 Free Cancer Screening Camps through Mobile Cancer Screening Bus; and Spreading Awareness about Prevention of Cancer among at least 10 Lakh youths
The ultra-modern Mobile Cancer Screening Bus is fitted with Mammography machine, Digital X-ray, Dental Chair, PSA & CA 125 machines, facility for PAP SMEAR tests etc. All major types of Cancer like Breast Cancer, Cervical Cancer, Ovarian Cancer, Oral Cancer, Throat Cancer, Lungs Cancer, and Prostate Cancer can be screened through this bus. Since its launch, the Bus moving through various States have completed 150+ Camps.
The bus is currently serving the people of Karnataka. “We have planned to conduct 20-25 Free Cancer Detection Camps in Bangalore for general public irrespective of their caste or creed. More than 10 such Camps have already been conducted in Bangalore and another 20+ is planned in Sept-Oct 2016”, said Sushil Bansal, General Secretary, Karnataka Prantiya Marwari Yuva Manch.
