3rd Block RWA asks Energy Minister to lay power lines underground

If everthing goes well then overhead power lines in Koramangala 3rd Block will be a thing of past. No more power interrupts during rainy season or tree falls. Besides aesthetically, the locality will look more beautiful with no dangling power lines and no more tree trimming activity by BESCOM men, if the power lines are laid underground.
On Thursday, Members of the Koramangala 3rd Block Residents’ Welfare Association met with the Energy Minister D K Shivakumar at his home office to discuss this initiative.
In the meeting members requested the minister to adopt a project to convert the entire 3rd Block Overhead Power Lines to an underground system.
The project cost is estimated to be Rs 1 Crore with about 5 Km of underground electrification work.
A request was also made to the Minister to install solar arrays in the Koramangala 3rd Block park and playground to generate clean renewable power.
The Minister responded favourably to the requests and has promised to visit Koramangala 3rd Block shortly to inspect.the area.
Bescom Executive Engineer Koramangala has been asked by the Minister to put up a Detailed Project Report for underground electrification.
