After continued representations from citizens of Koramangala, Bangalore City Traffic Police has restored 2 way traffic to Sarjapur Road in the stretch from Krupanidhi College to Water Tank junction on an experimental basis.
Vehicles coming from Krupanidhi junction can proceed upto Water tank junction and take a free left towards Kendriya Sadan. City Kemp had been reporting about the hardships faced by the residents in its various issues.
The move is expected to help thousands of vehicles bound for Madivala, Forum Mall and destinations beyond. At present these vehicles are either forced to take Madivala Santhe Road to Total Mall or cut through the residential lanes of Koramangala to reach their destinations.
Flex boards informing motorists of the new traffic arrangement have come up at Aishwarya junction and at Krupanidhi junction. The move, it is hoped, will relieve some of the congestion at the major roads in the Koramangala area.
Bangalore City Traffic Police had introduced a one way system on Sarjapur Road and Hosur Road from May 2015. At present, the reversion to 2 way is only on the stretch between Krupanidhi College junction and Water tank.
