IMG_2860ck IMG_2863ckCycle Day – After HSR, Jayanagar, Yelahanka, Shivajinagar, Cubbon Park and other areas, has now thrilled the residents of Rajajinagar.
Sneha Kamath didn’t waste time in expressing her joy of participating in the Cycle Day held near Ram Mandir in Rajajinagar on Sunday (Oct 11). Rajajinagar’s second Cycle Day saw around 700 people turning up. Half of that crowd rode cycles, while the rest was engaged in exercise and street games.
Soon after the event ended at 11am, Sneha posted on the event’s Facebook page: ‘Give me some sunshine/ Give me some rain/ Give me another day/ Wanna grow up once again…’ The post was complete with photos of her family playing traditional games like tug-of-war, pagade (game of dice), etc.
So excited was Tarun Jain, who posted: “Aaj din he Suhana..Aaj cycle day he..Laut aaya Bachpan, playing buguri (top) on the street…”

After three rides, people, especially children, made the most of the 0.5km stretch, which was made free from traffic from 7am to 11am, by exercising under the guidance of fitness instructors led by Dinesh Kumar.
All through, the volunteers kept the mood traditional, by distributing ‘limbe huli’, ‘kamabarkat’, ‘botee’, imli candy and the like.
The “never-seen-before” condiments were polished off in no time, proving their popularity even in modern times.
