The library building extension at the 3rd Block Park is now complete. This library has been running for a few years now, but what is remarkable is that it has been a 3rd Block community effort.
The books have been donated by residents, well wishers and the library is manned both morning and evening by volunteers who made it happen! All age groups enjoy using this library from the little toddlers who come with either mother or father to choose their books. The glow of pride the little ones have, when they land in their membership cards for registering a book to be borrowed and senior citizens who enjoy both fiction and non fiction books. There are a range of books suitable for all age groups.
The new library wears a festive air. The racks have been painted in vivid colours, the extended area now is bright with glass tiles to let in the light as also the large sliding windows, and the shiny floors too reflect the light.
There are many who believe that the age of ebooks is here, but ask anyone coming to the library – they will tell you – there is nothing like holding a book and reading, being fully absorbed, forgetting the world around you.
