SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAUnauthorised constructions are mushrooming everywhere in the city.  After building skyscrapers, even the parking place which is mandatory for highrise buildings   to keep open are not spared.  Greed takes over and the construction starts in the basement without a thought for  the parking of vehicles.

One such case came up in BBMP Ward 148 – 20’M’ Cross, Ejipura, where the builder after constructing 5 floors started partitioning the basement meant for parking into cubicles for office.
The builder had covered more than half the area without a thought for the parking of vehicles of the building which is being built for PG accommodation with 70 rooms.

In a swift action, the BBMP squad demolised an unauthorised construction going on at the basement of a huge building meant for parking in Ejipura on Friday following complaints from the residents.

One fine morning the residents of the lane woke up to the enormity of the situation – There would be at least two boys per room and the least count will be 150 bikes moving in the narrow 15 ft wide dead-end road.
Written complaint was given to the officials of BBMP Ward 148 and immediately Junior Engineer Chandrasekar came and told the engineer in charge of the buildig to stop the work.  But work continued without giving any respect to the instructions given by the BBMP Officer.
The next day too the work continued even after receiving telephone calls asking them to stop work. However on Friday, the Junior Engineer Chandrasekar under the guidance of Assistant Executive Engineer Pujar  landed with his team and demolished the unauthorised construction going on in the basement of the multi-storied building.

This is an eye-opener to the residents of Bengaluru. Instead of keeping quiet and blaming the authorities, report such unauthorised constructions and bring it to the notice of BBMP.  They are sure to take action!
