Bengaluru City Police is observing the crime prevention month this December with main focus on prevention of crime against women & children. With increasing population and economic activity in Bengaluru, there has been a rise in crime in general and also against women &  children. Hence, Bengaluru City Police aims at increased co-operation from its residents in bringing the crime rates down. December is observed as the Crime Prevention Month and Bengaluru City Police urges citizens, businesses, schools, neighborhood associations, various city departments to join hands in preventing and proactively taking precautions to stop crime.

safetyBengaluru City Police has the best social media foot print in the country with all the senior officers active on social media across Twitter & Facebook.
It has received tremendous response from the tech savvy citizens of the IT Capital of India and recently, Police has received invitations from various start ups, students and vendors willing to work in the area of security and crime prevention.
Therefore, in order to leverage this opportune time of Crime Prevention Month and to provide a single platform to the various Security related Start ups/ Students/Vendors/Traditional Companies to display their hardware and software gadgets to the general public, Commissioner of Police M N Reddi, has tasked DCP Crime to organize an exhibition where Safety Equipment & Software Apps for example CCTV Surveillance, mobile apps, Anti-burglary alarms, emergency response systems, home security, data security etc. can be displayed for live demonstration to the general public.
The exhibition would open to the public on the 19th & 20th of December 2014 at Orion Mall, Brigade Gateway, 26/1 Dr. Rajkumar Road, Malleshwaram West, Bangalore – 560055
This event will also help educate the general public regarding the various technological advances and availability of new equipment in the market.
It will be a win-win situation where Vendors can find buyers/ investors, public will get educated about security related possibilities and Police would have contributed in containing crime. Remember crime happens when CRIMINAL-VICTIM-OPPORTUNITY TO COMMIT CRIME meet together. If by installing security devices we can shrink this window of opportunity for the criminals, we would have prevented crime.
All interested vendors, students and companies are free to participate in this Exhibition by registering at http://bit.ly/bcpregister by filling up a form.
